Shivanasamudra Falls, or Shiva Samudram, is a famous outing spot located at Mandya District of Karnataka. Shivanasamudra, which truly remains for ‘Shiva’s Sea’, is an interesting island town situated on the River Cauvery. It is a glorious tourist place which is well-known for waterfalls.
It is recorded among the top 100 waterfalls on the globe. The River Cauvery, on the water-way, passes through rocky beds and canyon of the Deccan land after that, gets split into two streams – Gaganachukki and Bharachukki, on achieving Shivanasamudra. The two streams converge force on their descending outflow and waterfall fell down from the vast mountain from around 98 meter high. The Gaganachukki Falls is located towards the western part of the cliff, while the Bharachukki Falls lies towards the eastern part.
