Nohkalikai Falls is the tallest dive cascade in India. Its stature is 1115 feet (340m). The cascade is situated close Cherrapunji, perhaps the wettest spot on Earth. Nohkalikai Falls is nourished by the water gathered on the summit of a nearly little level and diminishing in power during the dry season in December – February. Underneath the falls there has shaped a dive pool with bizarre green shaded water. The pride of the territory of Meghalaya, the falls are one of the most wonderful and fantastic cascades in the nation. Taken care of between the evergreen rainforest of the Khasi Hill and streaming with all its superbness and might, the falls dive into a tidal pond which is as blue as the evening sky.
Nohkalikai Falls is one of the most well known and huge spots to find in the North-East. The name of the falls is joined with a dismal story of a lady named Ka Likai who remarried a man, who accepted that she cherished his little girl more than him. So one day while Ka Likai was working outside, the man killed his girl and cooked her fragile living creature and served it to Ka Likai. She ate the feast and went out to search for her girl and keeping in mind that doing so she discovered her fingers in a beet-nut bin. Seeing this she turned out to be vexed and plunged to death from the cascade which was presently renamed ‘Noh Ka Likai ‘.
