Gangasagar (Sagardwip) or Sagar Island is an island in the Ganges delta, lying on the mainland rack of Bay of Bengal around 100 km (54 nautical miles) south of Kolkata. The island is huge with a zone of 224.3 km. Gangasagar is an enchanting visitor goal, which draws in the two pioneers and experience sweethearts.

How to Reach

  • By Air: The nearest air terminal to Gangasagar is the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport which is arranged in Kolkata. It is well-connected with a few urban communities.
  • By Rail: Trains run on the Sealdah South lines from Kolkata through Kakdwip to Namkhana where at Bakkhali, there is a ship over the Muriganga distributary (Channel Creek) to Sagar Island (Gangasagar).
  • By Road: Busses utilize from Esplanade (Kolkata) to Harwood Point. In the wake of intersection the stream Muriganga at Harwood point by vessel, one can reach Kachuberia. From Kachuberia, transport administration is there that takes voyagers to Gangasagar.
