- By Air: Coimbatore International Airport which is 85 km away from Coonoor.
- By Rail: Mettupalayam(well connect all cities of India) is where the Nilgiri Mountain Railway starts from and it is 35 km away from Coonoor.. From there tourist can take Toy train to reach Coonoor. This train also go to Ooty. The Train rides uphill, and therefore to reach Coonoor is slow, still this ride is one which you will always remember. and thin gauge.
- By Road: Simplest route to reach Coonoor via road is the road from Mettupalayam to Ooty. Also, Luxury buses, Volvo and State transport buses are also available from the major cities of Tamil Nadu. Tourists also can hire any vehicle as well.
