The old city of Chittorgarh also acknowledged Chittor was said to have been instituted by the Maurya Dynasty. Nevertheless, its importance rose when the Ruler of the Sisodiya Rajput Clan of Mewar caught the city in 734 AD and made it the capital of Mewar. The place is known to be the origination of numerous extraordinary warriors and ancient figures like the Great Maharana Pratap and the Hindu saint – Meera Bai. The city being an old place contains a wide range of palaces, shrine, and forts which show few the most developed architectural designs and artistic expertise.
One of the leading places to visit in Chittorgarh is the Chittorgarh citadel, which is the biggest fort in India. The citadel was the prior capital of Mewar before its move to the more secure city of Udaipur. The fort was established in the seventh century by the first Sisodiya Rajput King Bappa Rawal and expanded over a zone of 2.8 sq kilometers and its ultimate altitude point is 1,075 meters above from sea ocean level. After visiting here you will understand and witness the Rajput style architecture at its best. The citadel complex itself contains a few various palaces, greenhouses and shrines the vast majority of which have incredible historical importance.
